The Winsor Newton Artist's Canvas range consists of carefully selected and prepared medium grain 100% cotton canvas. The primed canvas weighs 13oz/375gsm having been triple coated with one coat of acid free sizing and two coats of highly pigmented primer. The result is a canvas that offers tooth and balanced absorbency, for excellent adhesion and preventing the sinking of oil colour. All Winsor & Newton Artists Canvases are stapled on the reverse resulting in clean edges, to ensure that you can paint on all four sides. Professional stretcher bars offer great strength and stability. Winsor & Newton Artists Canvas is available in three popular formats; rectangular , square and maritime and are suitable for use with oil (including water mixable oil), acrylic and alkyd colour.
